epay To Offer Secure Digital Voucher Services to Major UK Retailers

04 September 2013 • Promotional Marketing

epay, a division of Euronet Worldwide, Inc. (NASDAQ: EEFT) and a leading prepaid and payments processor in the UK, today announced its integration with the i-movo Secure Digital Voucher service. epay processes transactions at over 156,000 points-of-sale at many of the UK’s leading retailers including supermarkets, convenience, forecourt and high street retail.

i-movo allows companies to increase sales through offers and promotions aimed at their target market. Vouchers are created and issued via email, SMS or web advertising and can be redeemed across epay’s independent retail network in the UK. This includes CashOut payments, newspaper subscriptions and promotional vouchers. The integration brings the coverage of the i-movo network to over 50,000 UK locations. Voucher issuers can now run offers and promotions across this increasingly important yet fragmented sector of the UK retail landscape.

epay will also offer the i-movo service to retailers where their EPoS systems are integrated directly to epay, enabling i-movo services across all lanes where the retailer so wishes.

“We are pleased to offer our retail partners this exciting new service, increasing footfall, sales and reducing costs by streamlining the clearing and settlement of vouchers,” said Jason Thompson, epay’s Regional Managing Director for Europe. “i-movo has a solid reputation amongst the brand-owners and publishers that account for the majority of voucher issuers, and we want to ensure our retail partners are in a position to benefit from the exciting changes happening as the media market becomes increasingly digital.”

“Since its foundation in 2003, i-movo has processed nearly 7,000,000 vouchers. By applying the findings of a 2012 Nielsen Survey that indicates each visit to a UK convenience store is worth between £4 and £14 of sales, we estimate that the shopper visits represented by our vouchers have generated up to £100 million increased revenue for our retail partners” said David Tymm, CEO of i-movo.
